Year 5 and 6 Wirral School Games High 5 Netball Tournament

Well done to the girls and boys who represented OLOP in the Wirral School Games High 5 Netball Tournament. It was great to see so many other schools there and so many children playing netball. OLOP played 6 games in the group stage, winning 5 and losing 1. This time we didn't qualify for the semi-final but we will get there next year!

Y2 and Y4  EFC Finals at Goodison Park

Everton Football Club and the Wirral School Games organisation teamed up to host the EFC football tournaments. Every year group participated in the first round of the tournament with most year groups progressing to the next round. Our Year 2 and Year 4 football teams were our most successful. After many matches, goals, free kicks and penalties, both teams won their way through to the Grand Final at Goodison Park.

The Year 4 team played three games against very competent teams. It was close but they did get through to the semi-final. Unfortunately the game didn't go their way. 3rd place out of all the schools on the Wirral and Merseyside was a very impressive performance. Well done.

The Year 2 team also had to play three games in order to reach the semi-final. They beat all the teams in the group stage and went on to win the semi-final and then the final on penalties. Congratulations Year 2 - Merseyside champions!

New Season Success!

Thursday 22nd September was the first Wirral Schools Cross Country Race at Arrowe Park. Thirteen children from Year 4, 10 from Year 5 and 5 from Year 6 took part. Every child tried their absolute hardest and showed a great deal of determination and resilience on what was a difficult course. Overall, the girls running team came 5th and the boys came 2nd, missing first place by 1 point.

Our Y6 boys came second in the Year 6 Boys Race and  a Y5 girl came second in the Girls Race. Fantastic performances by both athletes.

Well done to everyone who took part. It was great to see so many Year 4's taking part in their first ever race for the school. The next race is in two weeks time.

Get Training!!!
