 Margaret Mead

Will YOU be that champion?

Train with us!

As the lead school within the Deep Learning Teaching School Alliance, Our Lady of Pity R.C. Why choose Our Lady of Pity?

Our Lady of Pity is an outstanding school.   The most recent inspection report states:  "This is an outstanding school......  their [pupils] attitudes to learning are extremely positive because they have an exciting curriculum and are taught so well.  Pupils feel valued and well cared for, quoting, ‘how friendly everyone is and how much fun they have in school.’ "

Ofsted latest inspection report, 2008

"School Direct is an exciting and fast-paced training route that throws you in at the deep end! Our Lady of Pity is a forward-thinking school that will offer you the very best opportunities as you begin your career."

Lucy

"Ever since I was in primary school I wanted to be a teacher. I originally wanted to do a normal PGCE but was recommended by a Head to do School Direct. I thoroughly enjoyed my training year as I worked with a wide variety of children in two contrasting schools. Furthermore, I felt as though it prepared me for September with my first class as I was so used to working in the class setting. Other courses don't tend to have so much practical experience available."

Nicki

"I've always wanted to be a teacher from when I was young!

I chose the School Direct route because I wanted to be school rather than university based, as I felt I would gain more from that style of training. Our Lady of Pity has a positive atmosphere which you feel as soon as you walk in, even on my interview I felt welcome.

I also wanted to access the best training so looked for outstanding schools as I felt they would be better placed to deliver outstanding training."

Jess

"The best thing about training through School Direct is the immediate access to practical classroom experience. Working alongside experienced teachers and taking part in all aspects of school life throughout a whole school year provides opportunities for learning that other courses don't provide"

Emma

"One of the best things about School Direct for me has been the well-supported teaching placements which I have been able to undertake within a wide range of outstanding settings."
